Washing guide - taking care of your bamboo clothes

Ever wondered how you can extend the life of your beloved bamboo clothes? Here are some tips to help you keep your bamboo clothes in top condition for longer. Let's dive into these four important categories of washing advice for optimal durability.

#1 The right temperature
To keep your bamboo clothes fresh and colorful, it's best to wash them in cold or lukewarm water, around 30-40 degrees. This temperature helps preserve the fibers of the clothing and prevents unnecessary shrinkage or stretching.

Underwear and socks can be washed at 60 degrees to ensure optimal hygiene.

#2 Avoid dryers and drying cabinets
One of the most important things to remember when it comes to washing bamboo clothes is to avoid tumble dryers and drying cabinets. The heat from these can be harmful to the bamboo fibres, causing shrinkage and loss of elasticity. Instead, air drying is recommended for best results.

Our underwear and socks can be tumble dried, but this reduces their lifespan.

#3 Choose gentle detergents
To protect the bamboo fibers and preserve the softness of the clothes, it is best to use gentle detergents without harsh chemicals or bleach. Choose a mild detergent or one specially designed for delicate materials. These detergents are gentle on the bamboo fibers while effectively removing dirt and impurities.

You can, of course, use your usual detergent, but this will also reduce its lifespan.

#4 Stretch your lounge set after washing
After you have washed your lounge set, we recommend that you gently stretch the garments. The bamboo fibers can get a little compressed during the washing process, and by stretching the clothes, they will regain their original shape and fit. This will help to preserve the silky feel of the garment and avoid any shrinkage.

#5 Iron on low heat
If you need to iron your bamboo clothes to remove creases or wrinkles, make sure to use a low heat setting on your iron. Bamboo fibers are sensitive to high temperatures, so it's important to be careful. Place a thin cotton cloth between the iron and the clothes to protect them from direct heat.

By following these washing tips, your bamboo clothes will stay fresh, soft and durable for longer.

Our hope is that you now feel ready to take the best care of your bamboo clothes. By giving them the right care, they will continue to be the favorites of your wardrobe for a long time to come.
